One hot day The Labradors went swimming with their friend Jet, or Jetty. Peri and Jetty both love retrieving sticks, though Gilly wasn't up for a swim with Peri. But once she saw how Jetty's mum and dad encouraged him, she was all for having a go and she did some good, if brief, dog paddle. I still think it may have been a bit of an accidental swim!!
Yesterday we met Jetty and Sandy and there was a Big Dog Party of playing and fun.
Gilly and Sandy love to run far and fast. Peri really just likes to roll in something smelly. I wonder if Jet knows he is playing One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others??
When we went to the dam to walk we found one of the picnic shelters had been vandalised. People had been drinking beer and left the bottles scattered and they lit a fire in the grass and made deep tyre marks as well. It is very disappointing.
A car was set alight not far up the road. We were asleep in the afternoon so didn't hear the uproar or the fire brigade.This is very unusual for our quiet neighbourhood.
I am consumed by the hot weather, which is set to continue till Monday when it will drop from 30*C down to 19*C. I cannot wait. The Labradors are so hot they let me mist them with the hose, and Gilly hates that.
The Australia embroidery is complete and drying on the line after a quick wash. I have been watching Mapping the World, and so in tribute I am going to hang Australia the right way up for Southern Hemisphere people!! It means Tasmania really is where it should be, at the top of the world!!
I am having a small personal protest against google. I cannot give them a capital letter because I am cross with them. I love making photo collages of The Labradors and other things and Picnik was a fabulous tool. MrsDrWho and I even paid to gain access to the extra features. The google bought Picnik two years ago and now they are shutting it down and moving it to google+. I feel they are blackmailing me, trying to coerce me to join the google+. Instead, I have decided to slowly disengage myself from the google machine. I've changed my search preference to Bing. I am planning to close my gmail account and move from the google reader. I know it will mean nothing to them, but it makes me feel better.
Two imaginary friends are going to have synchronised cup of tea with me: Janette and Taphophile. It is like being in Get Smart: we will have to synchronise your watches and maybe even take a picture. I shall have tea, and a biscuit I think!!

I am totally peeved about picnik closing as well!! What am I going to use to make pretty photos now? I have premium too. Any word on what's the next best thing? Stupid google.
I loved that song on Sesame Street! I didn't have to click the link, the song came straight back! I also liked 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 - the song with the little silver ball rolling through some marble run type thing.
The dogs look like they are having an awesome time on their play date! Lots of running, rolling, sniffing, splashing - all the things dogs love!

What social butterflies your girls are! Obviously a great time was had by all.
It is annoying to see vandalism in our parks, as well the burned out car. Let's hope this is the one and only time.
Looking forward to our synchronised cup of tea. I've made and iced the cake, so ready for my cuppa!

Jet does look a little leary being the odd dog out. Look at those dogs race!
That's terrible about the vandalism- what is wrong with some people?!

Oh google. How annoying for you. I am on goggle plus, but I haven'ypt logged on for at least 2 months I think. It doesn't work properly on the iPad anyway.
I am glad I am not the only person who remembers the sesame street 1-12 song with the pinball machine! Smetimes I think I imagined it, but I still sing the song quite often (and probably wrong, heh!).
How good that the labradors have play dates!

I love your little google protest...although i agree that it will probably not mean anything to them. We all have to mark our line in the sand though for anything to change....don't you agree. I mean look at womens suffrage. It's only been just over 100 years ago that women in Australia were 'granted' the right to vote. My mind always boggles at this.

how disappointing people vandalise public areas like that. very bad indeed. hoping the hot weather cools down for you nicely (perhaps even before Monday). Here we are in the middle of rainy days and the humidity is high (83% today...ick)....hoping for a nice SE change very soon.
I have been reading some annoying things about google as well this week. thinking about getting off google plus. I never use it.

If you download "Picasa" you can make collages with it. I use it to edit all my pictures and I love it. =)

It's so nice watching Peri & Gilly swim. I wish I can go for a swim as it's so hot here - 42C on Australia Day. I just stayed at home the whole day with the air con & fan on at the same time.

I agree about picasa. It is a great tool but if you're protesting google then don't as picasa is also google. I love your Labrador photos. They really cheer me up!
