King Solomon's Mine!!!!!
Believe it or not, I'm walkin' on air!!

Hey baby, I'm the Telephone man!!!

I like cricket, don’t get me wrong, but I like proper cricket, Test Cricket. There is too much pyjama cricket and it is interfering with proper TV.

I ,too, have noticed that FitzGeralds have wool, well not technically wool, only one or two types are 100% pure wool.  I agree it is jumping on the bandwagon. Myer, Target, Kmart, Fitzies – they all had fabric and wool, and when it was deemed ‘uncool’ they got rid of it pretty quick smart. Now they think they might make a quick buck, they are in like Flynn. I refuse to buy any. I am having one of my ‘stands on principle’!!! They will make some quick money, and when Julia Roberts stops knitting, the supply will dry up.

I had another ‘bill’ from Telstra today. I say ‘bill’ because they owe me money, and have done for about six months. When the bill alert email popped up today I finally cracked and emailed them. I explained how they tried to lure me back with the same package I was already disenchanted with!!! And how they have been sending me this ‘bill’ for about 6 months. Then I asked for $5 a month late fee , and asked that they forward the $30 and the balance they owe me within 14 days. I wonder if they understand irony??? I also took the opportunity to complain about the phone book. They are all Mission Impossible, and deny all knowledge of said phone book, but it has their numbers in it. Not mine, mine is silent. They have the bulky Yellow Pages and then after that the White Pages with the numbers. It used to be a flip book, with each set upside down and back to front, but it meant that if you flipped the book, it started with the Yellow Pages, flip again, and it started with the White Pages. I think we are such a small state and have less than ½ a million people : we can have just one book for the whole of the state. I will let you know what happens with my ‘bill’ as they automatedly have promised to get back to me in 2 days!! We’ll see…….

Ooooh, next Tuesday is the day to go to the knitting group. I feel I can make my way there this time with no hissy fits or panic attacks!!!! I will have to ask Aunty Captain Mrs Archer if I can take her jumper along!!! I have a plan of action and as long as I am well, I will carry it out.

Berry Cheesecake Semifreddo

  • 300 g berries ( frozen or fresh)

  • 100 g icing sugar

  • 50 g caster sugar

  • 100 g plain sweet biscuits, crushed

  • 50 g butter, melted

  • 500 g marscapone

  • 300 ml vanilla custard

  • 1 tspn vanilla extract

Puree the berries and the icing sugar and set aside.  Mix the biscuits and butter and press into a greased and lined 24 cm springform tin. Chill for 15 minutes. Mix or process the cheese, custard, caster sugar and vanilla till combined. Pour half into tin, add almost al of the berry mixture, then the rest of the cheese mixture. Drizzle the remaining berries on top decoratively!!! Freeze for at least 2 hours.  Take out 30 minutes before serving. This will keep, frozen, for 2 months or more in an airtight container or bag.
