Proof Of Autumn

How do you know it is Autumn? This time last year we were frozen and lashed by rain...this year we are still in  short sleeved tops ( unless you have the constitution of a lizard) and pretty much dry as a bone. I knew it was Autumn when I came home to this. And when the Japanese maple tree leaves catch artistically in last years cobwebs I know the season has changed for sure.

The count down is on for the trip to Macau. I am excited, but the thought of 24 hours of feeling air sick...or recovering from the feeling, tempers the excitement a bit. There is a school count down and a real life count down. It is 30 bells, one recess duty, one lunch duty, one time out duty, NO STAFF MEETINGS ( yay) 9 get ups and 9 1/2 days.

I have the special pressure bands. I have the ginger tablets...but they make me want to vomit so a bit useless really. The best thing is to sip diet coke and crunch tic tacs and sleep when ever possible...5 minutes at a time usually!!!! I am on the night flight to Hong Kong. I am hoping for one of those planes with individual TVs because if it is the big shared telly they turn it off so people can sleep...and I get bored, and I like channel surfing. ?

I have lists...I have lists of lists. Packing list, buying list, jobs for work lists, lists for teacher taking over from me, lists of housework jobs, lists for house and cat sitter, list for working the various electrical apppliances, people to see list( I am only going for 6 weeks but I even have a farewell dinner!!) lists of things to get....addresses, numbers, passwords, times.

Can I just stay home?

I will have to have the Lovely Cat sitter/slave over for tea in the week for a last review of the job. She already knows Cleo is in charge but her duties must be made clear. The fridge and freezer and cupboards are stocked with everything a hard working student needs ( 35 packets of 2 minute noodles. Enough???????) But most importantly...I have written on all the remote controls to make it easier to operate. She can usually find MTV (sigh) when she is staying but this is a more long term proposition.....she will need Australias Top Model and re reuns of Friends as well!!!!!

I have to go. I need cotton to finish the crawl rug for Wee Al. 2paw has done 1/2 the binding around the blanket for the Demon Spawn but I really need to get that finished too. Another list.

It is definitely warm, even the rain is misty and not cold. Lucky Cleopatra, getting the Lovely CatSitter!!! LCS is privileged Cleo is letting her stay!!! I expect Cleo will give you the cold shoulder when you return....
