Cleo has really improved her big game hunting skills. She managed to torture a poor little lizard to bits…literally and has a keen desire to capture one of those big. slow bumble bees…but no luck so far. My
garden consists primarily of weeds with a few thriving agapanthus…yes some people think they are weeds so really they fit right in! She is on her lead still so the wild life has an excellent chance to escape and if they can’t - it is survival of the fittest. The knitting is going well for those
of you who need to know such things. The total so far is 9 scarves and one more on needles and 8 hats with one more nearly finished. I decided to knit at school in the staff room and gee…isn’t the world populated with sodding experts. Apparently my style leaves much
to be desired and teachers can’t resist trying to fix me. Unfortunately…much like kids and their pencil grip, once a style is set it is nearly impossible to change. And I need more of a reason to change than” I can’t stand to watch you knit that way…here let me show you how I do it” The implication of course being that they do it right…unlike me!!!! The urge to fix me is wearing off…in the face of my repeated instructions for them to SOD OFF !!! But here is the thing
that will make you laugh….I have inspired my Mum to knit scarves and hats as well. She can knit…really properly knit things with patterns and stuff, but she is happy to knit that feathery, fluffy stuff that I can’t manage. I had a heap of it at school that was basically just being wasted by the kids doing measurement and tying up lego things, so I brought it home…wait! WAIT!…I didn’t STEAL it from school…it was mine , I paid for it not the Education Dept. Phew…financial investigation diverted. I haven’t even done my tax yet I don’t need any further pressure. So I have brought a fellow knitter back into the fold. She thinks I should knit for children in Afghanistan not Mongolia…because they will be colder? more deserving? More needy? I don’t know why, but she can post hers to The Cold Children, C/o Afghanistan if she wants.
This is Stumpy, the cat from next door. He/she (not that the cat is confused about her/his own gender it is just that I am!!!) comes running everytime I pull up in the car hoping that Cleo will be allowed out to play...and VERY hopeful that I might have also provide a little tasty treat.
Ah! Aren't they cute, I had a black and white lizard terroriser. Normally I chased him away so they could get going. Unfortuantly it was never with their tails....
It's nice to know the cold children somewhere will be warmer next winter.
And the Americans run Afghans for Afghanistan! But I think they also take other knitted goods to distribute.

Holy crap - you really have been knitting!
Oh, and the Patty and Selma comment was meant to be a compliment. Aspire to be more like them, young lady! :)
It's either that, or Kath and Kim. And I dread to think which one you are!
